SAP ANZ announced as TAFE IAT industry partner
The Institute of Applied Technology – Digital at TAFE NSW Meadowbank has been offially opened, along with an announcement that SAP Australia and New Zealand has been named as an industry partner. SAP will support the institute in co-designing and delivering specific courses in key disciplines such as data management, software development and cloud computing.
A cohort of both education and technology partners have come together with the aim of launching NSW as the nation’s leading provider of digital skills, combining world-class facilities with an industry-driven education model.
Students of TAFE NSW and the IAT will have access to a number of free learning modules via OpenSAP, Student Zone and Learning Journey. From mid-year, the first two SAP courses will be available at the IAT:
- S/4 HANA Financial Accounting for SAP Consultants
- S/4 HANA Management Accounting for SAP Consultants
Additional courses will be added as the IAT matures, and are specifically being designed to focus on areas of skills shortages.
“We need more, and better, digital skills in Australia, but reaching the numbers and level of skill needed requires us to invest in new and different ways of finding and fostering talent — which is why we’re really excited to partner with the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) – Digital at TAFE NSW Meadowbank,” said Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director, SAP ANZ.
“More than 800 students are due to be trained in SAP skills through the institute over the next five years, which will bring new capabilities, value and experience to our customers and the broader SAP ecosystem.”
Member for Ryde and Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Victor Dominello said the IAT would support local homegrown talent to take advantage of the jobs boom in one of the fastest-growing industries.
“Students now have access to Australia’s best digital training, co-designed by industry leaders and world-leading universities, which will futureproof NSW’s workforce with the skills to embrace the digital age,” Dominello said.
