ASG to provide cloud for Vic Justice dept
Melbourne-based managed services provider ASG Group has secured a contract with Victoria’s Department of Justice and Regulation for the cloud hosting of selected applications.
Under the long-term contact, ASG and partner Macquarie Telecom will provide a flexible, cloud-based service to support and operate various applications for the department.
ASG will offer dial up and dial down pricing, the ability to roll on or off applications as needs arise and access on a need-only basis, eliminating the need for a major upfront capital spend.
The platform will also provide the ability to pool resources such as storage and bandwidth, on-demand self-service and network access across all platforms mobile and desktop.
ASG Group COO Dean Langenbach said the solution will deliver on the department’s requirement for meeting the most stringent conditions in terms of data security and sovereignty, as well as its high performance needs.
“The Victorian Government is at the forefront of adopting the federal government’s security classification system and the ASG-DJR contract is a very early example of the transformation that will be possible and, indeed, demanded,” he said.
The contract will also help the department meet the Victorian Government’s cloud-first policy for new infrastructure, platform and software deployments.
