Cenitex launches Protected-level cloud service

The Victorian Government’s shared services agency, Cenitex, has launched a new secure cloud product for its clients.

Cenitex says that VicCloud Protect is its “most secure cloud technology platform to date”, providing up to ‘Protected’ level controls for Victorian Government applications and data.

VicCloud Protect complies with the Australian Signals Directorate and Australian Cyber Security Centre guidelines, as well as the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework controls for up to Protected-level platform configurations.

The platform was developed in collaboration with Microsoft and gold partner oobe, and is hosted on Microsoft’s Azure system.

The solution employs a “robust virtual data centre architecture that is accompanied by controls, policies, logging, monitoring and reporting requirements to achieve a Protected environment”, according to a Cenitex statement.

This new service accords with the Victorian Government’s Cyber Security Strategy vision for secure and resilient government information, services and infrastructure.
