DVA enlists TechnologyOne for digital transformation upgrade
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and TechnologyOne are set to roll out a new cloud-based financial management system. The DVA says the three-year, $7 million technology upgrade will help to better support war veterans, the Australian Defence Force, the Australian Federal Police and their families.
The investment is part of DVA’s modernisation of its ICT systems, and aims to provide tools and expertise to better serve the community and to make it easier for veterans and their families to engage. To do this, DVA will move from an on-premise legacy system supported by Services Australia to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution by TechnologyOne. This includes financials, supply chain management, corporate performance management and contracts.
Solutions from Australian company TechnologyOne are now used by more than 230 federal and state government agencies and departments across Australia and New Zealand, including the Tasmanian and Western Australian Governments.
“The accelerating pace of technological change and the transformative capabilities of SaaS demanded a change to outdated delivery models such as shared services,” said TechnologyOne CEO Ed Chung. “At TechnologyOne, we’re proud to deliver smart, modern solutions to better our community; we solve the complex for our customers so they can focus on their customers.
“This is about allowing DVA to do what they do best — delivering government programs for war veterans, members of the Australian Defence Force, members of the Australian Federal Police and their dependents. With a few former ADF members within our ranks, it was a cause close to our heart.”
