Data centre-as-a-service to drive NSW government digitisation
Sydney-based MSP, Secure Agility has developed a secure, enterprise and government-grade cloud platform with partners Cisco, Rubrik and Pure Storage. The offering was released recently at the NSW.Digital Showcase event for NSW State Government at Randwick.
OurDC4 (OurDC to the power of 4), is a collaboration of four partners that delivers a modern data centre-as-a-service for customers across three geographically diverse, Tier 3 data centres in NSW.
This includes residing within NSW GovDC, meaning it is sanctioned for use by NSW State government departments as part of its digitisation push.
Secure Agility CEO, David Abouhaidar, said releasing the environment allows Secure Agility “to offer the absolute best of breed technology when government and enterprise clients require cloud-based infrastructure and multi-cloud services”.
“We built three identical environments to ensure we could provide efficiency and simplicity,” he said.
The DCaaS was created in collaboration with Cisco, Rubrik and Pure Storage, which were chosen based on their capabilities and complementary services, said Secure Agility Technology Director, Charlie Tannous.
“For example, we can now use FlashStack as a converged solution for on-premises infrastructure for the Hybrid Cloud Platform, allowing customers to seamlessly integrate, compute and store resources with Kubernetes clusters. And with Rubrik, enterprises built on Cisco technology can deliver near-zero recovery times, accelerate application development and unlock actionable insights on operational efficiency and compliance via custom reporting,” Tannous said.
Cisco Director NSW Sales and Operations, Andrew Stevens said: “Cisco is excited to partner with Secure Agility to offer services from GovDC that address data challenges and opportunities of both Commercial and Public Sector customers”.
“The combination of best of breed technology, addressing data sovereignty and security, as well as delivering key automation features across the private and Hybrid Cloud, will add tremendously to the breadth of offering from the NSW GovDC Marketplace.”
Michael Alp, Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, Pure Storage, added that “Pure Storage is pleased to be working with Secure Agility and its technology partners, including Cisco, in this critical development for the NSW State Government”.
“Pure’s core mission is to deliver a modern data experience to our customers. Secure Agility is doing that with GovDC, taking the stress away from the end-user and enabling them to maximise the use of their data resources seamlessly across the hybrid cloud securely and in a timely fashion,” he said.
Rubrik Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Luke McGoldrick said the new platform “will serve as an enabler for further government innovation in Australia”.
“It’s important that government — at all levels — lead by example and demonstrate how organisations can deploy the right infrastructure and cloud technology to remain competitive in the digital economy.”
Products are now available from the cloud including:
Sdwan4: SD-WAN powered by Cisco and with the choice of either Viptela or Meraki solutions.
DaaS4: A hosted desktop to reduce desktop management costs and improve access.
IaaS4: An enterprise and government grade cloud hosted on-shore with native security and data protection.
DPaaS4: A data protection service to keep business running in the event of a problem.
