NSW picks ServiceNow, UXC for GovDC Marketplace

The NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI) has selected enterprise cloud company ServiceNow, in conjunction with UXC Keystone, to provide the primary platform for the new GovDC Marketplace.

GovDC is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for government agencies to procure services from approved ICT vendors, with a standardised adoption and consumption model.

ServiceNow’s Service Catalog functionality will provide the vendor services requirement for the new marketplace, while UXC Keystone’s KeySite will fulfil the CMS requirement.

This will allow approved vendors to market and self-manage the services they offer to agencies, while government agencies will be able to use the portal to track and report on services requested and audit their interactions with vendors.

“To improve service quality, all government agencies are required to migrate to GovDC by August 2017. This consolidation will mean a significant reduction in ICT service costs, and the GovDC Marketplace will connect agencies and suppliers in a way never before possible,” DFSI Executive Director of Government Technology Platforms Pedro Harris said.

“The ServiceNow platform has provided us with a solution that allows us to facilitate a connection between agencies and vendors to provide a secure service delivery portal in a way that offers best value for taxpayers’ money.”

The project forms part of the NSW Government’s ICT transformation initiative, which commenced in 2012. The wider GovDC project involved consolidating 130 separate data centres into two facilities in Silverwater and Wollongong.
