350 sellers apply to join expanded Digital Marketplace

More than 350 new sellers have applied to join the Digital Marketplace since the launch of the new expanded version last Thursday, according to the Digital Transformation Agency.

The marketplace has been extended to cover the full spectrum of digital services, ranging from strategy and policy to digital transformation to software engineering and agile delivery, DTA creative Steven Berends said in a blog post.

The expanded version of the Marketplace launched last week with new categories such as cybersecurity, data science, content and publishing, marketing and operational support.

Berends said before sellers can apply for an opportunity they must be approved to join the new Digital Marketplace panel, which will involve passing assessments for digital expertise and corporate stability.

“We’ve made it easier for digital businesses of all sizes to work with government. With a single application to join the Digital Marketplace, that can be completed at any time, you can access opportunities published by hundreds of buyers across local, state, territory and federal government,” he said.

New features added to the expanded Marketplace include keyword search, scalable contracts and guidance and coaching for users of the portal.

But the features will not be available to buyers until the Digital Marketplace panel is formed, which must be 25 days after the approach to market with the new version of the Marketplace.
