Databricks to equip NSW public servants with AI skills
Data and AI company Databricks has partnered with the NSW Government to expand its Data and AI Academy upskilling program. As part of the expanded program, the academy will train at least 100 staff of various NSW Government departments in AI and data analytics skills over a 12-month period.
Once they have completed their training, graduates will obtain Databricks certification and accreditation, and will be equipped with the skills needed to train their colleagues.
Databricks VP and GM for ANZ Adam Beavis said the program will help uplift the capabilities of the NSW public service.
“Leading organisations around Australia and the world are using data and AI to improve processes, and more importantly, outcomes. Government departments must have access to the same data intelligence in order to develop innovative solutions that improve the lives of citizens and enable internal teams to work more efficiently,” he said. “With Databricks’ data and AI academy program, we’ll support the NSW state government to continue its innovation journey and empower public sector staff to identify use cases for data and AI that can benefit people all across NSW.”
The program makes use of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, which has been designed to enable public and private sector organisations to drive innovation, lower costs and reduce risks involved in using analytics, machine learning and AI applications.
