Motorola Solutions taps Google Cloud for public safety
Motorola Solutions has inked a deal with Google to use Google Cloud infrastructure for public safety and enterprise security applications.
Under the multi-year agreement, Motorola Solutions will leverage Google Cloud infrastructure to develop solutions based on assistive intelligence, including high-quality video content delivery, mapping and AI capabilities for first responders and other public sector agencies.
Motorola Solutions will use the connectivity to support its suite of cloud security solutions, including its Avigilon Alta cloud-native video security offering.
In Australia, the agreement will provide enterprise and public safety organisations with access to cloud infrastructure from Google’s local data centres in Sydney and Melbourne.
Motorola Solutions EVP and CTO Mahesh Saptharishi said the joint agreement will help both organisations address real-world safety challenges.
“From communities to businesses, our customers rely on us to help create a safer future. This collaboration will leverage the power of sensors, data and AI to help make safety and security more accessible and actionable,” he said.
“Whether it’s enabling better protection for schools, identifying unusual activity at businesses or more effectively securing large-scale events, real-time visibility and awareness are foundational for both public safety and enterprise security outcomes.”
