Sparx Solutions to join Victorian Government cyber panel

Managed and professional services provider Sparx Solutions and its technology partner, ProcessUnity, have been selected by the Victorian Government as the Third Party Risk Management supplier for its Cyber Security State Purchase Contract (SPC).

As part of the contract, Sparx Solutions and ProcessUnity will provide third-party risk management services to interested Victorian Government departments, agencies and entities. The services from Sparx and ProcessUnity are envisaged to help organisations continue to adhere to guidelines and regulations around how data is applied, shared and otherwise used.

The solution will provide the government with the ability to assess third party vendors’ controls and risk exposure, while incorporating threat intelligence. This will enable the relevant agencies to securely share generated reports on third-party risk exposure between themselves.

To ensure data privacy and security of the reports, these assessments include ‘live threat’ intelligence alert capabilities, enabling an improvement in notification via a continuous assessment protocol.

“As a Victorian, I’m excited and humbled for Sparx to play a leading role in helping ensure the safety and security of important data for Victorians by providing services in this panel, with our partner, ProcessUnity,” said Mario Antoniou, Executive Director, Sparx Solutions. “Previously, these services were provided on a bespoke basis to the specific agency. However, this is a Victoria-wide approach to third-party risk management, which includes highly secure sharing between agencies of the risk profile of third parties dealing with Victorian Government.”

“We are delighted to be working closely with Victorian Government, cyber-strengthening their supply chain,” said Anthony Panuccio VP APAC, ProcessUnity. “To do this with Sparx Solutions, who have a long and successful relationship with the Victorian Government, will ensure we are delivering against the desired outcomes of the TPRM uplift project. With most of the breaches occurring through third parties, a progressive modern approach is required to uplift every third party’s cyber maturity and coverage.”
