Vectra AI expands platform to combat GenAI threats

Attack detection company Vectra AI has expanded its Vectra AI platform to help protect enterprise customers from the new generation of generative AI attacks.

The platform’s Attack Signal Intelligence capability uses behaviour-based AI to defend against cyber attackers who are abusing generative AI. New enhancements include expanding detection coverage to Microsoft Copilot, the increasingly popular generative AI platform, as well as correlation and attribution of GenAI detections with identities across Microsoft, AWS and Active Directory platforms.

The platform also includes native, automated and managed response actions to allow customers to lock down hosts and customers involved in an attack.

Vectra AI co-founder and CEO Hitesh Sheth said organisations are increasingly turning to GenAI-powered tools like Copilot to streamline processes and improve productivity. But GenAI tools also create new attack surfaces as the large language models powering the tools are given access to proprietary corporate data.

“At Vectra AI, we’ve been at the forefront of leveraging AI to combat advanced and emerging threats for more than a decade. Our mission has been and always will be to deliver the most accurate attack signal at speed and scale, enabling us to find and identify attacks that other solutions can’t,” Sheth said. “With more enterprises now using GenAI tools to boost employee productivity, SOC teams face a new attack surface, one that can only be protected with AI. Our new AI-driven detections for GenAI attacks empower SOC teams to fight AI with AI, enabling them to operate at the same speed and scale as attackers.”
