Metro North taps Orion Health for referrals platform
Queensland’s largest health service, Metro North, has contracted Orion Health to provide a platform to help track and manage patient referrals.
Metro North will use Orion Health’s Referrals Management platform to help track patients across its network of hospitals, community health centres and oral and mental health facilities.
Healthcare professionals will be able to submit, track and manage referrals as a patient moves from home, to hospital, to community care.
Orion Health will deliver the platform as subscription application managed service. The company’s software currently manages over 90 million patient health records worldwide.
Orion Health’ executive vice president for APAC, Darren Jones, said Metro North will have the ability to eventually extend the functionality of the platform to cover other modules supporting better care coordination between healthcare professionals.
“We are excited to be working with such a strategic healthcare provider who requires a futureproofed platform. We look forward to helping Metro North support the patient as they move between home and hospital with high-quality care,” he said.
The company won a contract last year to replace Queensland Health’s middleware system with the Orion Health Rhapsody integration software, in partnership with Fujitsu Australia.
