Treasury adopts Expense8 travel management platform

The Department of Treasury has adopted a new SaaS-based travel and expense management platform from 8common Limited to improve process and cost efficiencies.

The department has signed a three-year contract to replace its iCMS system with the Expense8 travel and Expense8 management platform.

As part of the agreement, Treasury and 8common will be able to collaborate to onboard more agencies to the platforms under the government’s shared services initiative.

Expense8 is designed to streamline the accounting, reporting, tax compliance and governance of employee-generated expenses and corporate travel bookings.

Besides Treasury, existing government customers of the platform include the Department of Finance, the Department of Education, the NSW Police, the whole of the NT government and Transport NSW.

“This new milestone both extends and transforms 8common’s presence across Australian federal government,” 8common CEO Nick Gonios commented.

“It enables Treasury to drive greater process and cost-efficiencies with their pre-trip approval and expense management needs together with having a unique shared service offering in partnership with 8common.”
