Bushfire business buying portal goes live
A new buying portal as well as a concierge service that connects regional suppliers in bushfire-affected areas with NSW Government agency buyers is now active.
The portal and service will assist agencies comply with the requirements of PBD 2020-01 Support for bushfire affected communities, which states: “NSW Government agencies must use local businesses within the communities impacted by the bushfires wherever possible for clean-up, repair, rebuilding, remediation and enhancement works arising out of, in relation to or following the bushfires.”
Any suitable and capable local business can be engaged, even if they are not prequalified through existing procurement arrangements.
Buyers can upload their bushfire recovery plans and gain fast access to local suppliers.
The portal is available to government, councils, insurance firms and other potential users of regional suppliers.
Buyers can also make use of the concierge service, a ‘helpline’ style of services that provides advice and guidance for engaging suppliers in affected regions.
