Industry and govt collaborate to push EV fleet sales
Origin and the NSW Government are working together to make switching to electric vehicles easier for local businesses.
A series of Origin 360 EV Drive Days being held in Sydney will provide businesses with an introduction to electric vehicles and an overview of things to consider when looking to transition to an EV fleet.
The half-day events offer the opportunity to test drive a range of vehicles, meet with manufacturers, and hear about current and emerging fit-for-purpose EV models in Australia.
The events will help support the NSW Government’s strategy to increase EV sales to 52% by 2030–31, while working towards net zero emissions by 2050.
“Businesses are eager to understand more about EVs, how they work and the benefits of making the switch to both emissions and fleet costs, so these drive days are designed to provide the information they need to take the next step,” said Chau Le, General Manager, Strategy and E-Mobility at Origin.
“We know from experience that transitioning to electric requires a unique range of skills spanning energy, sustainability and fleet management, and that businesses need to ensure EVs work for their organisation operationally, so we are on hand to support the journey.
“The electrification of transport will play an important role in reducing emissions across our economy, and it is something that every organisation with their own vehicle fleet can start to look into today.”
