AIIA opens nominations for 2024 iAwards
The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has opened nominations for the 2024 iAwards, the annual awards designed to recognise Australian technology innovations.
Now in its 31st year, the iAwards allows Australian technology startups and individuals to showcase innovations that are making a positive impact on a community, national or global scale. This year’s theme is ‘shaping our future’.
This year’s awards will span seven major categories — students and education; startups; business and industry solutions; technology platforms; government and public sector solutions; not-for-profit and community; and sustainability and environmental solutions. Three additional awards — the diversity award, the chief judges award and the inspiration award — will be allocated to companies from the pool of applicants in these categories.
Entry to the awards is free, and requires recording a short video with the innovator answering four key questions about their innovation. The winners will be selected by a group of around 70 judges, all leading industry experts, with state and territory winners selected in the first round to compete in the national round.
The awards will be handed out during the National iAwards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Adelaide on 29 August.
AIIA CEO Simon Bush said the annual iAwards offers a unique stage for Australian innovators.
“It allows them to highlight their outstanding work to their peers, along with industry experts, VC partners and funds who can help them expand their business and propel their innovation to international acclaim,” he said. “The 2024 iAwards play a vital role to foster these innovations and solutions. While the iAwards recognise and applaud commercial achievements, the iAwards are particularly focused on those discoveries that make the world a better place. I am excited to have the opportunity to see the 2024 entries.”
Entries for the 2024 iAwards open at 9 am, Monday, 5 February 2024 and close at 5 pm, Tuesday, 2 April 2024. For more information about the iAwards and how to enter, visit https://aiia.com.au/iawards/.
