DFSI enters testing phase for dMarketplace program
The NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI) has entered a dedicated testing phase for its ambitious dMarketplace whole-of-government data program.
During the testing phase, the department plans to assess a number of technologies including the functional prototype of its system to enable secure sharing of government data between agencies.
The department will also be testing a number of assumptions and ideas based on requirements suggested by data experts from across the state government, and run a number of workshops to test the needs of key data sharing, publishing and governance stakeholders.
The dMarketplace program has three components. The first involves determining the policy environment needed to support the development of government strategies, services and opportunities based on data insights.
The second component involves developing guidance and offering support to enable all areas of the state government to improve their data practices. It also involves collaborating to tackle policy challenges and building the skills base needed to ensure all government policies and services can be data informed.
Finally, the third component involves developing and evaluating the technology needed to support the government’s vision, including support tools to help agencies share data safely and more frequently, and the tools to allow other agencies and communities to take advantage of this data.
