Digital Marketplace beta users give positive feedback
Early feedback from buyers and sellers on the federal government’s Digital Marketplace beta has been positive, with an experienced public sector official giving the service a mark of approval.
Chris O’Connor, manager of the Digital Casey project at Melbourne’s City of Casey, was very enthusiastic about his initial experience with the beta, the Digital Transformation Office’s Steven Berends said in a blog post.
After his first experience he told the Digital Marketplace team that “in 14 years in government, this is the easiest procurement I’ve ever done”.
Sellers have also been experiencing the benefits of being able to bid for government contracts that would have been out of reach with traditional procurement processes.
“Being a small operator with no ‘contacts’ in government or industry, the Digital Marketplace is a miracle for us. We keep getting opportunities at a steady rate,” TP&G Solutions’ Amith Attygalle told the team recently.
“Comments like these tell us we’re on the right track. By listening to our users and delivering the features in our roadmap, we know the Marketplace will get even better from here,” Berends said.
There are currently 244 approved sellers and 183 buyers on the Digital Marketplace, with 27 opportunities listed.
