Digital Summit 2019 to be held on 3 Oct

A range of digital leaders and stakeholders from across government and industry will convene for Digital Summit 2019 in Canberra next month.

The summit, which will be held on 3 October at the National Convention Centre Canberra, will be focused on the theme of ‘skills, knowledge, collaboration’.

The opening address of the summit will be given by Minister for Government Services and Minister for the NDIS Stuart Robert, who will take the opportunity to engage with the public sector and industry about the government’s vision for digital transformation.

Other public sector representatives speaking at the summit will include Digital Transformation Agency CEO Randall Brugeaud, Secretary of the Department of Human Services Renee Leon and former Telstra CEO and current CSIRO Chairman David Thodey.

Representing industry, AIIA CEO Ron Gauci will speak at the event, and representing academia, attendees will hear from University of Western Australia Associate Professor Julia Powles and Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering President Hugh Bradlow. The MC will be motivational speaker Yvonne Adele.

On the evening of the Digital Summit, the Digital Transformation Agency will announce the winners of the Australian Government Digital Awards. During the event, awards will be handed out to federal, state and local government agencies and industry across nine categories.

The categories collectively seek to recognise excellence in digital products, services, partnerships and individuals.
