Michael Davis joins Macquarie Government
Macquarie Technology Group has revealed that Michael Davies has returned to the group to take the role of Head of Federal Government at subsidiary Macquarie Government.
Davies was most recently CEO of health software company Global Health. But he had previously spent over eight years with the Macquarie Technology Group in roles including Head of Revenue, Chief Operation Officer and Head of Commercial Operations.
During his nearly 20-year career in the technology sector, Davies has also held roles at companies including Optus and Telstra. Davies has skills covering software and product development and data security governance.
In his new role, Davies will support Macquarie Government’s work in protecting Australia’s digital future by providing cybersecurity services to the company’s government customers.
“I’m thrilled to return to Macquarie in a capacity that allows me to play an active and leading role in further supporting Commonwealth agencies,” Davies said.
“At a time when the nation is facing continuing and increasing cyber attacks, Macquarie Government has transitioned from gateway provider to incorporate a much broader cyber capability. It’s exciting to be returning to the company at such an important time.”
Macquarie Technology Group recently completed a $160 million equity raise to fund the expansion of its data centre footprint. Macquarie Government meanwhile already supports over 40% of federal government agencies, and has partnered with the NSW Government to build out a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence.
