NSW launches revamped Data.NSW portal
The NSW Data Analytics Centre has launched a redesigned version of the Data.NSW data portal that aims to streamline the user experience while searching for data.
The redesigned Data.NSW site has a refreshed homepage, an updated information architecture and various other design tweaks.
The DAC’s Data.NSW Team launched the redesign on Wednesday after implementing the changes based on feedback from users from both government and non-government backgrounds.
NSW Department of Customer Service Secretary Emma Hogan said the redesign will provide enhanced resources to support agencies sharing their data to allow for more informed decisions on products and services to be made across government.
“By making ... information more accessible and easier to navigate, we’re putting the customer experience at the centre of the accessing important data,” she said. “[This will support] data-driven decision-making and delivering better outcomes for the people of NSW.”
NSW Information and Privacy Commission CEO and Open Data Advocate Elizabeth Tydd added that the Data.NSW site is a key element in the provision of Open Data in NSW.
“[The site] is the main channel for access to NSW open data and data-related guidance,” she said. With this redesigned website and opening access to NSW Government information, Data.NSW is promoting open discussion, accountability and transparency, and ultimately better decisions.”
