Data#3 has completed a multimillion-dollar project to provide new digital infrastructure for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).

As part of the contract, Data#3 worked with HP Australia to equip the hospital with more than 4200 specialist digital healthcare devices.

The project aims to improve mobility for hospital staff while providing them with fast and reliable access to critical information including patient details and test results.

Data#3 also provided project management capabilities and governance over other specialist digital technology providers, professional services, imaging and asset tagging, change management and training for all hospital staff, and will provide ongoing field services.

“We’re delighted to partner with HP and Queensland Health on this significant digital infrastructure project for the Sunshine Coast community. The success of the project demonstrates Data#3’s expertise in the design and deployment of world-leading technologies, and reinforces our credentials in the healthcare sector,” Data#3 CEO Laurence Baynham said.

SCUH is Queensland’s first public hospital constructed under a public-private partnership model. A consortium of companies including Lendlease and Siemens designed, constructed and partially financed the hospital and will maintain the buildings and grounds for 25 years.

HP Australia Business Manager for the Commercial Channel Chris Hewlett said the public-private model made the company and Data#3 ideal technology partners for the hospital.

“Together, we have extensive know-how of the healthcare system in Australia and its technology requirements, and the complexities of how a public entity can coexist with a private health system,” he said.
