Cairns Council adopting OneCouncil SaaS solution
Cairns Regional Council has awarded TechnologyOne a 10-year software-as-a-service contract covering the supply of the vendor’s OneCouncil solution.
The council plans to use OneCouncil to streamline its operations and develop an easy-to-use and engaging online experience for residents.
The council’s CEO, John Andrejic, said OneCouncil met the council’s criteria of a futureproof solution with a proven track record and a solid technology roadmap.
“Switching to a high-performing SaaS-enabled environment will remove the complexity of running and updating our software and infrastructure and mitigate many of the risks associated with IT disaster recovery in our tropical region,” he said.
TechnologyOne CEO Ed Chung added that the company has been serving Australia’s local government space for 30 years, and has had more than 300 local government customers over this time. This represents around 30% of the company’s customer base.
“As an iconic Australian tech company, we are thrilled to partner with an iconic Australian council,” Chung added.
“A global tourist destination needs a global solution — OneCouncil will enable Cairns to innovate faster, reduce IT costs and focus on council business, rather than the technology required to operate it.”
